## Seven Kingdoms

Historically, before Aegon I Targaryen united Westeros, there were seven
independent kingdoms:

- Dorne joined later through marriage rather than conquest.

## Houses

After Aegon's Conquest, the realm became known as the Seven Kingdoms, but the
political divisions evolved into these regions:
